As our annual conference approaches, we are in search of passionate professionals who provide services to Latino communities to submit proposals for conference workshops. Our theme is:

Quest for Excellence-Orgullo en el Pasado y Esperanza para el Futuro (Pride in the Past and Hope for the Future)

It is highly encouraged for the workshop to tie into the theme of the conference. Presenters are recommended to provide insight and information related to the Latino population, such as issues regarding health, education, religion, cultural diversity, justice system, and more.

Workshop Format
Each workshop will be approximately 90 minutes in length and should be able to provide hands-on tools for the participants. This could be in the form of worksheets, a roadmap of program implementation, interventions or any other tool that service providers could utilize in working with Latino communities. It is highly recommended for the workshops to be interactive. No program overviews, please. Given the non-profit nature of LSWN, we are unable to offer an honorarium to the presenters. Presenters will need to provide copies of materials for the participants and bring necessary equipment (i.e. laptop, overhead projector, etc.)

Instructions and Guidelines
Complete and submit a proposal for each workshop. Proposals must be received no later than Sunday, June 10, 2007. Proposal selections will be made by June 25, 2007 and presenters will be notified by post mail and e-mail.

A typed proposal describing your workshop must include:

  • Workshop Title (short and concise).
  • A 3-4 sentence abstract describing the workshop for the conference brochure.
  • List 3 measurable objectives the workshop will provide the participants. Ex: At the conclusion of this presentation, the participants will be able to.
