Scholarship Award History

LSWN OC awards scholarships to Orange County residents who are currently enrolled in graduate Social Work programs and seeking degrees in the social work field.

LSWN OC began its scholarship award program in 1997 during the first conference hosted by the Orange County affiliate. LSWN OC awarded $1,000 scholarships to three students and these awards were presented at the 1997 conference. We have continued this tradition and continue to award three $1,000 scholarships annually.

Each year, LSWN OC notifies Social Work universities throughout California about our scholarship award program by either mail or email and active students are encouraged to apply. Our mailing usually goes out in September and selected recipients are notified in December. Some of our past scholarship recipients have been from USC, California State University at Long Beach and other surrounding universities.
